Catch the Wind

Is there a difference between these?

  • Randomly doing good things
  • Being all God created you to be

Kind of obvious, huh?

It’s like the difference between a prairie chicken and an eagle (see “Born for the Sky”).

When a prairie chicken wants to fly, it flaps its wings vigorously. All that effort propels it a few feet through the air.

An eagle makes friends with mighty air currents. With outstretched wings, it catches the wind and soars for miles.

As much as we allow him to be, God is the wind beneath our wings.

Make It Personal

  • Think of a time when you know that your attitude, words, or actions were inspired by God.
  • Would you like to live that way all the time? Go for it!  It’s God’s plan for you.

P.S. Bette Midler’s “Wind Beneath My Wings” is an inspiring reminder that we need more than ourselves to fully shine.
